Objection:   “I Don’t Believe in Hell”

Like many of the objections, this is actually a deception.    So here is the Truth to Say:  There are too many people that have died and gone to hell and have come back to life and have testified of their experiences for you to not believe there is a hell.  All the testimonies are very similar, so we know that they all went to the same place.  They all describe hell as a real place - eternal fire and torment, full of pain and suffering and great fear, total darkness, full of demons, where the worms eat your flesh and they do not die.

  • Mary K. Baxter went to hell and wrote a book about it called, The Divine Revelation of Hell.  (Whitaker House)

  • Before Brother Kenneth E. Hagin was truly born-again, he went to hell when he was 16 years old. (Just because you go to church, doesn’t mean you are born again – you have to repent and say a salvation prayer.)  He wrote a book about it called:   I Went to HellYou can order this book through their website:   or   call 918-258-1588. or write:   Kenneth Hagin Ministries    PO Box 50126  Tulsa , OK 74150-0126

Brother Kenneth E. Hagin wrote a little book called, I Went to Hell.    [Note:  This experience of him going to hell happened when he was 15 years old and then he was born again April 22, 1933.  Then Kenneth Hagin was miraculously healed of an incurable blood disease..  He later went on to become the founder of Kenneth Hagin Ministries and RHEMA Bible Training Center in 1974. where they have now trained over 45,000 people since the school started in 1974.  There are 14 International RHEMA Bible Training Centers with over 6,000 international graduates to date.  to order the book, I Went to Hell ]

Here is a testimonial video of the play"I Went to Hell"  Susan actually played the role of Aunt Liza and comes on near the end at 15:55.

Kenneth E.Hagin was a church member and had been water baptized, but was not a Christian.  He was not born again.    In his book he says:

“I could feel the circulation as it cut off.  Suddenly my toes were numb.  Faster than you can snap tour fingers, my toes, feet, ankles, knees, hips, stomach and heart went dead and I leaped out of my body and began to descend.  Until this time, I thought, “This is not happening to me. This is just a hallucination.  It can’t be real! ”  But then I thought, “This is the third time. I won’t come back this time!”   Darkness encompassed me ‘round about, darker than any night man has ever seen.  The Bible talks about men and women being cast into “outer darkness,” where there is “weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matt 8:12)

And in the darkness, I cried out,  “God!  I belong to the church!  I’ve been baptized in water!  (You see, I was telling Him, “I shouldn’t be going this direction; I’m going the wrong direction!”)

I waited for an answer, but there was no answer; only the echo of my own voice through the darkness.  And the second time I cried a little louder,  “God, I belong to the church!  I’ve been baptized in water!”

I waited for an answer, but there was no answer; only the echo of my own voice as it echoed through the darkness.

I would scare a congregation out of their wits if I ever imitated the way I screamed the third time, although if I could scare them out of hell and into heaven, I’d do it.  I’d flat do it.

I literally screamed, “GOD!  GOD!  I BELONG TO THE CHURCH!  I’VE BEEN BAPTIZED IN WATER!"

But you see, although being baptized in water is right, although belonging to the church is right, it takes more that being baptized in water to miss hell and go to heaven!

And all I heard was the echo of my own voice as it echoed through the darkness.  I came again to the bottom of that pit.  Again I could feel the heat as it beat me in he face.  Again I approached the entrance, the gates into hell itself.  That creature took me by the arm.  I intended to put up a fight, if I could, to keep from going in.  I only managed to slow down my descent just a little and he took my arm.  Thank God that voice spoke.  I don’t know who it was – I didn’t see anybody –I just heard the voice.  I don’t know what he said, but whatever he said, that place shook; it just trembled.  And that creature took his hand off my arm.  I was just like there was a suction to my back parts.  It pulled me back, away from the entrance to hell, until I stood in the shadows.  Then it pulled me up headfirst.  As I was going up through the darkness, I began to pray.  My spirit, the man who lives inside this physical body, is an eternal being; a spirit man. I began to pray:

“O God!  I come to you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  I ask you to cleanse me from all sin.”…  I came up right beside the bed the third time and leaped right inside my body.

When I got inside my body, my physical voice picked up my prayer right in the middle of the sentence.  I was already praying out of my spirit;  my physical voice picked up my prayer and continued to pray….I want you to know that it was like a two ton weight lifted off of my chest. Peace came on the inside.  I looked at Grandpa’s old clock on the mantelpiece, and it said 20 minutes till 8 o’clock.  So I was born again at 20 minutes til 8 o’clock on April 22, 1933 in the south bedroom, and I’ve been saved ever since.  (Hagin, 15-19)

The last page of the book he relates about a woman who kept saying there is no hell.  On her deathbed she died and went to hell saying:  ”It’s so dark, it is so DARK!  It’s so DARK!”

Men and women, boys and girls, young men and young women:  There IS a heaven to gain and there is a hell to shun.  This may seem old-fashioned to some, but the old-fashioned Gospel is still true today.   The first and foremost faith that we need to understand is having faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior.”      (Hagin, 32)

  • Bill Wiese testifies that he was taken to hell and spent 23 minutes there.  You can buy his book called:  23 Minutes in Hell  (Charisma House, 2006) or hear his testimony at:    or write him at:    Bill Wiese     PO Box 26588   Santa Ana, CA   92799

  • Ian McCormack was stung by a jellyfish and went to hell and wrote a book called:  A Glimpse of Eternity  and his website is:

  • Dr. Richard Eby – wrote Caught Up Into Paradise after he went to hell in a brush with death. Later this physician tells about how he also went to heaven.  Discover miracle after miracle exemplifying God's protective love.

  • This website has many testimonies of people who have gone to hell and have come back to tell about it

  • Jennifer Perez, a 15-year-old girl, says she went to Hell.  You can find her testimony at

  • Dick Spiller went to hell and came back to life.  You can read his testimony at:

  • John W. Reynolds spent 48 hours in hell.  You can read his testimony at:  which has several life after death testimonies.

I am sure that there are many other testimonies that I just do not know about. A lot of people who have died and come back to life are ashamed and do not like to admit that they went to hell when they died.   I just want you to know that Hell is there and Hell is real and you do not want to go there.  Believe in Jesus and pray this Salvation Prayer

Deception:   If I confess and believe that hell does not exist, then it does not exist. It may be true for you, but it is not true for me…because I do not believe hell exists.

Truth to Say:  Believing that hell does not exist will not keep you from going there. You cannot create your own reality of what you want life and “life after death” to be like.

God is a God of love and mercy, but He is also a God of Judgment.  Hell is the place people go who do not want to receive Jesus Christ and serve the Lord.  It is their place of Judgment.  Jesus said many times through the Word of God that there was a hell – a place where there would be:  “weeping and gnashing of teeth (in pain and agony).”

Is the reason why you don't believe in hell because you fear that if there is such a place you might go there?  Well then, you do not need to fear any longer.  You can know for sure that you are not going to hell.  That’s what the Gospel is all about.  I believe in hell, but I know that I’m not going there because I received Jesus Christ as my Savior.
