Why Should I Cast My Cares?
When you cast your cares upon the Lord, then you will have space in your heart to care about other people. So casting your cares creates compassion for the lost that you see around you everyday.
For example, if you are not worried about your own problem when you are standing in line at the store (or any line) then you can have compassion for the person in front of you or behind you in line. Ask yourself, "Are they going to heaven?" You could say something like this to them: “Waiting in line for a long time reminds me of eternity. You know, eternity is a LONG time to be spend in the wrong place. I received Jesus as my Lord, so I know that I will spend eternity in heaven...So how about you?" Then see what they say and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. Or you could simply say: "Do you know how much Jesus loves you?"
Bible Study - Cast Your Cares Upon the Lord
1 Peter 5:7 - Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Matt. 6:34 - Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own thins sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Psalm 55:22 - Cast your burdens on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
Philippians 4:6-7 - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of Go, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
1 John 5:14-15 - Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that is we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
Having a Hard Time Sleeping?
Since I work the third shift at Oral Roberts Ministries, I receive many calls for prayer because people are having a hard time sleeping. Many times that is because they are burdened down by cares. If you don't get enough sleep, then you will be weary throughout the day and will be concerned about yourself and how tired you are and thus, will be less willing to care about people and witness to the lost. So it is important to get enough sleep. God wants us to have sweet sleep.
Here are some SLEEPING scriptures:
Psalm 4:8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Proverbs 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
Psalm 127:2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.
Isaiah 32 :18 My people will live in quiet dwellings and undisturbed places of rest
Matt. 11:28 - Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
