Lies Unitarians & Universalists Believe:  Truth to Say:
Deception:  In 1961 the Unitarians and Universalists merged to become one Association.  The UU do not have a creed, but they have statements of purpose, one which includes a covenant to promote: “a free search for truth and meaning.”  So in UU there is a religious pluralism.  They promote being accepting and tolerant of each other’s beliefs. Truth to Say:  Jesus was tolerant of different cultures and customs that were not Jewish.  He talked to the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:5-30). Jesus was so tolerant that the Pharisees complained, calling Him “a glutton, a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.“ (Matt. 11:19; Luke 15:2).  The truth is Jesus was tolerant in talking to outcasts because He loved them and wanted them all to know the truth and have eternal life.  But Jesus was intolerant of false doctrine because He knew that it would send people to hell. Now the devil is tolerant of all kinds of false doctrine. The devil is not tolerant of any doctrine that says: “Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He is the way, the truth and the life and there is no way to the Father, but through Him (John 14:6).”  The devil hates God’s creation, so he wants all people to go to hell.
Deception:  They allow every person to believe or do whatever is right in their own eyes as long as he/she is sincere about it. Truth to Say: The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?  (Rom. 1:21).  So I believe that false doctrine comes from men’s hearts.  You cannot find the truth in your heart or even your own personal experience.  Truth comes from God’ Word because God is the Creator and we are His creation.  God is the Potter and we are the clay. (Isaiah 45:9-13). He is the Father and we are His children. Therefore, we must put our trust in the Bible and refrain from trusting our own hearts to find the truth.
Deception:  A UU survey was done that shows the stats of their theological perspectives: Humanist        46.1%Nature/Earth 19 %Theist              13%Christian        9.5%Mystic             6.2%Buddhist         3.6%Jewish             1.3%Hindu              0.4%Muslim            0.1%Other*           13.3%(*Atheist, agnostic, following Native American customs) Truth to Say:  Proverbs 28:26 says, “He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely shall be delivered.” Proverbs 3:7 says, “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.”Proverbs. 21:2 says, “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts.”  Yes, God will judge our hearts.  One way to know how He will judge us on an issue is to know what the Bible says about that topic. Proverbs 12:15 says, “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise.”
Deception:  The Unitarian Universalists largely believe: “if it feels good, then do it.”  They throw caution to the wind.  They do not think about the long-range destruction that will happen from their emotional “feel good” selfish choices that they make in the present moment. Truth to Say:  Just because I think or feel something doesn’t mean it is true or right.  Many kids do not feel like going to school everyday, but they go.  After years of being married, many married people do not feel the same way they did about each other on their passionate honeymoon, but love is not a feeling.  Marriage is an unselfish choice to stay committed to each other, forsaking all others, for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health until death do you part.  If you choose to love your spouse, you won’t physically nor verbally abuse them nor commit adultery.  You will keep your vows in the fear of God.
Deception:  The Unitarians believe in the oneness of God or the unity of God. They do not believe in the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Truth to Say:  I believe in one God and that there are three manifestations of His Presence.  It is like: water, ice and steam.  See: Matt. 28:19 and 2 Corin. 13:14.   You see, God is like the ice.  He is up in heaven, so we cannot see Him.  Jesus Christ came to earth and said, ”He who has seen Me has seen the Father.”  Jesus is like the water (John 7:37).  When a person asks Jesus to come into their heart to be their Lord and Savior, what happens is the Holy Spirit comes into their heart (John 14:15-17). That is how God can truthfully say in Hebrews 13:5: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” because the Holy Spirit is God.  The Holy Spirit is like the steam.  Another example is simply this:  A man that is married and has children is a son to his parents, a husband to his wife and a father to his children.  He is all three and yet he is the same person in three different roles.  That is the way God is.
Deception:  The Unitarians reject the divinity of Jesus, but do recognize him as a great moral teacher, like Moses or Buddha. They also deny the miraculous elements in Scripture.  Truth to Say:  Jesus Christ is divine because He was born of the Virgin Mary.  He was fully God and fully man. He committed no sin, thus, He was the perfect sacrifice for our sins, shedding His holy blood and dying on the cross (so that our sins could be forgiven and we could be reconciled to God) and God raised Him from the dead, which makes Him deity.
Deception:  The Universalists believe that God would not deem any human being unworthy of divine love, and that salvation was for all.  They believe in universal salvation: that all will go to heaven.  It is also called:  “the doctrine of Inclusion.”  Truth to Say:  The question is not whether God loves us or not.  The question is:  Do we choose to love Him?   God gave us the choice when He gave us our own free will.  Like I said earlier, love is a choice. Jesus said in John 14:23 says: “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word; and my Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him…” God is loving, but do not ignore He is also our Judge. God loves everyone, but everyone does not choose to love God.  So they choose the devil’s side and therefore they will go to hell.
Deception:  Universalists also believe that there are no torments of hell.  Truth to Say:  Hell is where the devil lives - a real place full of pain and suffering, torments, fire and brimstone.  You may not believe hell exists, but that doesn’t mean that you will not go there.  The choice is your choice, not God’s choice, to make. I urge you to receive Jesus as your Savior and go to heaven.  Eternity is a long time to be spent in the wrong place.
Deception:   They do not believe the Bible is the exclusive source of truth, but see it as mythical or legendary. They respect the sacred literature of other religions, science, art and social commentary.
Truth to Say:  Prophecies fulfilled is one of the methods the Bible uses to authenticate itself as the Word of God.  In the Old Testament there are at least 333 prophecies about Jesus Christ.  Hundreds of years later in the New Testament all 333 prophecies were fulfilled through Jesus, thus proving that the Bible is true.
Deception:  Whatever their theology, UU agree that being active leaders in the struggle for racial equality, civil liberty, international peace and equal rights for all people matter more than true beliefs about God.
Truth to Say:  God believes in equal rights for all people.  That is why salvation is not through good works because people do not have equal abilities to do good works. People have different talents and gifts; and different levels of income, intelligence, athletic ability and social status.  But no matter what, God knows that everyone has an equal right to believe whatever he/she chooses.  The truth is our sin separates us from God. Hebrews 9:22 says, “Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.”  So God sent His Son Jesus Christ, Who shed his holy blood on the cross, paying the price for our sins, which satisfied the wrath of God.  So now whoever chooses to love God through believing and receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will be reconciled to God and have eternal life.  The choice is yours.

Would you like to Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Have Eternal Life in Heaven?  Then Pray this Salvation Prayer:  “Heavenly Father, I believe You love me and that Your Son Jesus Christ died for me on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.  Jesus, I repent for all of my sins. I repent for all the wrong things I have done.  I repent for believing those lies and now I believe the truth.  Now I ask You, Jesus,  to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I want to live for You.  Holy Spirit, come fill me with Your power.  Thank You for loving and forgiving me.  Thank You for saving me from hell and for giving me eternal life in heaven.  In Jesus’ name I pray,  Amen.”
