“I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say at a Swimming Pool?”

The hardest part about witnessing is the transition from an everyday conversation onto the Gospel track.  One way to do it is through relating the Gospel to objects around you like Jesus did many times in Matthew 13.  These object evangelism icebreakers will train you how to transition conversations onto the Gospel track.  Jesus is coming soon, so use loving boldness and be compassionate. Then be led by the Spirit using whatever method. You may prophesy or pray for healing, etc.  To help pull them in, after the “”, there is an invitation to be saved.

Lifeguard  - As I look at that lifeguard watching over me, it reminds me of the One that is really my lifeguard…He is Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. He guards me from any attacks of the enemy because He loves me.  He keeps me from going under [you know, way down under  (hell)] and He keeps me safe for all eternity….Have you made Jesus your lifeguard?

Suntan Oil – This suntan oil reminds me of how God comforts those who grieve.  Is. 61:3 says God gives them “the oil of joy for mourning and a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.” When a person asks Jesus Christ to be their Lord, then the Holy Spirit, that oil of joy, comes into their heart…Would you like to pray to receive that oil of joy right now?

Ointment for Burns - I’ll bet that sunburn really hurts.  I have some ointment that will take away the sting.  Here, put some of this on.  This ointment reminds me of Song of Solomon 1:2:  “Your name is ointment poured forth.” Jesus Christ is that name.  He is the Savior and the Healer….Is Jesus your Lord?…Can I pray for your sunburn to be healed?

Sunglasses – When I buy sun- glasses, I get the rose-colored lenses because it reminds me of my righteousness.  Since I received Jesus as my Lord, God does not see my sins, but He sees me through rose-colored glasses that are stained rose by the blood of His Son Jesus Christ.  I’m so thankful that God loves me. He loves you too…Do you want to receive Jesus as your Lord?

Butterfly- As I watch that swimmer swim the butterfly, it reminds me of how the caterpillar goes into his cocoon and then in God’s timing comes out as a butterfly, like a new creature. Have you ever become a new creature in Christ Jesus through praying to receive Jesus as Lord?

Backstroke – Watching the backstroke reminds me of sinners that are backwards in their believing as atheists or agnostics.  It also reminds me of Christians who are backslidden because of ungodly peer pressure, false religion, alcohol, drugs, pre-marital sex or homosexuality, which are all forbidden in the Bible.  Jesus is coming soon, so I pray that they will hit the wall, do a flip-turn and repent and rededicate their lives to God once again.

Pool Water – As I look at the pool water, it reminds me of the Baptism of Holy Spirit.  Imagine that the water is the Holy Spirit.  First, you pray and ask God for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Then He gives it to you. (Then jump into the water submerging your head as well).   In the same way the water went over my head, the Holy Spirit fills me to overflowing. Then the Holy Spirit gives me my prayer language (utterance).  I cooperate with Him by boldly moving my tongue and lips.  I learned to relax and not think too much because you receive with your spirit, not your mind.  Your utterance may sound strange, but it is a heavenly prayer language and God understands you.  If it is His will, God will give you the interpretation.  So would you like to pray to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?  We can pray here right now.

Salvation Prayer:  “Father, I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.  I repent of my sins.  Jesus, I ask You to forgive me and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior.   Fill me with the Holy Spirit.  Thank You for saving me from hell and giving me eternal life in heaven, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
