“I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say at a Beauty Salon?”
Many times the hardest part about witnessing is the transition from an everyday conversation onto the Gospel track. If you do not know how to do this, you will not be witnessing at all. One way to turn the conversation it is through relating the Gospel to objects around you like Jesus did many times in Matthew 13. These object evangelism icebreakers will train you how to turn conversations onto the Gospel track. Jesus is coming soon, so use loving boldness and be compassionate. Then be led by the Spirit using whatever method. You may prophesy or pray for healing, etc. To help pull them in, after the “…”, there is an invitation to be saved.
Brush or Comb – As I pull this comb through my tangled hair, it reminds me of how God can make every crooked place straight if I just put my trust in Him. As I surrender my will to the Lord, He will straighten out every problem that I have in my life …and in my hair as well. Prov. 3:6
Fingernail Polish - As you apply that red polish to cover my nails, it reminds me of the blood of Jesus Christ that covers my sins. (Rom. 4:7). I’m thankful He loves me. I know that in a week or so, this nail polish will fade and chip away, but God will never leave me. His love never fades nor chips away. His love never fails. Jesus loves you too…Would you like to receive Him as your Lord? Heb. 13:5; 1 Cor. 13:8
Hair Colored – I am thankful to get my hair colored because it takes away all the undesirable gray. It reminds me of how thankful I am for God who sent His Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross to take away all my undesirable sins. He covered them up and removed them with His shed blood so that I could be reconciled to God and have eternal life in heaven… Would you like to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord? Rom. 4:7; John 3:16
Haircut –Getting these dead ends cut off reminds me of all those that will not receive Jesus Christ as their Lord before they die. They will be cut off from God and go down into hell to burn for all eternity. I’m so glad that Jesus is my Lord & Savior…so is Jesus your Lord? John 15:6
Make over – I love the new look that I get with this new make-up. It reminds me of what happened to me when I received Jesus as my Lord. I could actually feel God’s loving approval of this spiritual “new look” as I became a new creature in Christ Jesus with the old passing away and a new Christ-centered outlook coming forth in my life. 2 Cor. 5:17
Manicure - As I watch you file and shape my nails, it reminds me of a scripture that says when you believe in the Lord, He will make the crooked places straight and the rough places smooth in your life…Do you know how much Jesus loves you? Have you ever prayed to receive Jesus as your Lord? Isaiah 40:4
Mirror – Mirrors reminds me of the truth that Jesus Christ is the mirror image of the invisible God. Jesus came to earth to show us what God is like in heaven. As a person reads the Bible that tells about all that Jesus did while here on earth, then they will come to know what God in heaven is like because God and Jesus Christ are one or mirror images of each other. Have you received Jesus as your Lord?
Pedicure - Watching you wash and pedicure my feet reminds me of when Jesus Christ washed the disciples’ feet. He was so humble and kind, just like you are. I am thankful to have someone pedicure my ugly feet, but Isaiah 52:7 says: “Oh how beautiful are the feet of those that bring Good News”… Do you know how much He loves you?…Would you like to pray to receive Him as your Lord and Savior?
Salvation Prayer: “Father, I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I repent of my sins. Jesus, I ask You to forgive me and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank You for saving me from hell and giving me eternal life in heaven, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
