“I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say Around the Fourth of July?”

Many times the hardest part about witnessing is the transition from an everyday conversation onto the Gospel track.  If you do not know how to do this, you will not be witnessing at all. One way to turn the conversation it is through relating the Gospel to objects around you like Jesus did many times in Matthew 13.  These object evangelism icebreakers will train you how to turn conversations onto the Gospel track.  Jesus is coming soon, so use loving boldness and be compassionate. Then be led by the Spirit using whatever method. You may prophesy or pray for healing, etc.  To help pull them in, after the “…”, there is an invitation to be saved.

American flag  – The flag represents our nation that is under God. The white stripes represent God’s holiness and purity.  When the soldiers whipped Jesus Christ, the 39 lashes wrought red stripes of blood all over His back.  It says in Isaiah 53:4-5 that by His stripes, we were saved and healed.  In Genesis 22:17 God promised Abraham, “I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky…”   America has the most Christians in the world, so it is fitting that we have so many stars on our flag and that the background of the stars is blue, the color of our heavenly skies….So are you a Christian?  Is Jesus your Lord?

Fireworks  – As I watch those beautiful and spectacular fireworks being shot into the air, it reminds me of the glory of God. Psalm 72:19 says, “The whole earth shall be filled with His glory.”  It also reminds me of how Christians need the fire of God to do the works that God has called us to do...So do you have that fire?

Freedom – Freedom reminds me of what Jesus Christ did for me.  He died on the cross and paid the price for my sins, so that I could be reconciled to God.  I now have the freedom to live by His Spirit instead of being bound to the Old Covenant laws.  I am free from all the pagan false religions that separated me from God.  In Christ Jesus, I am free!… So are you free? John 8:32

Independence Day – One of the reasons why the US fought to gain independence from England is to have freedom of religion.  So while the United States has freedom to be independent from England, God still wants us Christians to be dependent on the power of the Holy Spirit.  As He abides in us, we must obey God and abide in Him…Do you have that dependence upon the Lord?

Soldier
I’m proud of you and I appreciate you for going to fight for our country.  I believe that in fighting for our country, you are really fighting for us to help keep our religious freedom to worship the Lord.  The Bible says in 2 Tim. 2:3 to “Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”…  So many people know about God, but they have never personally prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Before you go, I want you to be sure of your salvation…C’mon, let’s pray.

Uniform – Seeing that soldier in uniform reminds me of how we Christians need to put on the whole armor of God everyday to stand against the evil in this world…. Ephesians 6:14 (NIV) describes the armor as: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted and ready with the Gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God.  As soldiers of the Lord, we need to pray daily for those around us. The most important prayer is the “Prayer of Salvation.” …. Have you ever prayed to ask Jesus Christ to be your Savior?

Salvation Prayer:  “Father, I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.  I repent of my sins.  Jesus, I ask You to forgive me and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior.   Fill me with the Holy Spirit.  Thank You for saving me from hell and giving me eternal life in heaven, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
