“I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say at the Hospital?”

Many times the hardest part about witnessing is the transition from an everyday conversation onto the Gospel track.  If you do not know how to do this, you will not be witnessing at all. One way to turn the conversation it is through relating the Gospel to objects around you like Jesus did many times in Matthew 13.  These object evangelism icebreakers will train you how to turn conversations onto the Gospel track at a hospital.  Jesus is coming soon, so use loving boldness and be compassionate. Then be led by the Spirit using whatever method. You may prophesy or pray for healing, etc.  To help pull them in, after the “…”, there is an invitation to be saved.

Blood Donor – A blood donor saved my life.  Jesus Christ gave His blood for me on the cross for my sins.  Since I prayed to receive Him as my Lord, now I have eternal life.

Crutch – That crutch reminds me of prideful people that say that religion is just a crutch for the weak who have low self-esteem. The truth is they cannot save themselves through their own works.  Prov. 16:18 says, “pride goes before a fall (into hell),” But those who humble themselves and by grace through faith receive Jesus as their Lord will have eternal life.  They will walk with the Lord (with no crutches) for all eternity.

Doctor – That doctor reminds me a little bit of the Great Physician, who is Jesus Christ.  Psalm 103:3 says, “Praise the Lord...and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”…. So I am not depending on him to heal me.  I am depending on the Lord. …Would you like to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior or prayer for healing?   Let’s pray.

EMSA logo – That logo of the serpent on a pole is from the Bible in Numbers 21:5-9.  The Israelites in the wilderness got discouraged and sinfully spoke against God and Moses.  So the Lord sent fiery serpents that bit the people and many died.  Then they repented for their sin.  The Lord told Moses to make a bronze serpent and lift it up on a pole and when those who are bitten look upon it, they will live.  This foreshadowed Jesus Christ when He was lifted up on the cross.  Whoever looks to Jesus and receives Him as Savior shall not die, but have eternal life in heaven forever and ever.

Medicine
 – As I take this medicine, it reminds me of Prov. 17:22 “A merry heart does good like a medicine.” And “the joy of the Lord is my strength (Neh. 8:10).”  In Psalm 16:11 it says, “In God’s Presence is fullness of joy.”  When I praise and worship God I often feel His presence.  So let’s sing: “I Am the God that healeth thee. I Am the Lord your healer…”

Red Cross – After Jesus Christ died on it, it was a red cross. It was a bloody mess.  He bore our sins in His own body on the cross and “by whose stripes, you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24)….Would you like prayer for salvation or  for divine healing?

Stethoscope – A doctor uses a stethoscope to listen to one’s heart to see if it is beating right. But I listen to a person while they talk to see if their heart is beating right with God….A heart that is beating right with God is one that believes in God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and has received Him as their Lord.  John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” Would you like prayer for salvation or healing?     Matt 12:34

Waiting Room  - It is taking so long here in the waiting room, it reminds me of eternity…Eternity goes on forever.  It is a very long time to be spent in the wrong place…Do you know where you will spend eternity?  Have you ever asked Jesus to be your Lord?

Salvation Prayer:  “Father, I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.  I repent of my sins.  Jesus, I ask You to forgive me and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior.   Fill me with the Holy Spirit.  Thank You for saving me from hell and giving me eternal life in heaven, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen..”
