“I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say at the Laundromat?

Many times the hardest part about witnessing is the transition from an everyday conversation onto the Gospel track.  If you do not know how to do this, you will not be witnessing at all. One way to turn the conversation it is through relating the Gospel to objects around you like Jesus did many times in Matthew 13.  These object evangelism icebreakers will train you how to turn conversations onto the Gospel track at the laundromat. Jesus is coming soon, so use loving boldness and be compassionate. Then be led by the Spirit using whatever method. You may prophesy or pray for healing, etc.  To help pull them in, after the “”, there is an invitation to be saved.

This laundry detergent reminds me of:  *Psalm 34:19 that says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them ALL” and so I believe these stains will come out. Jesus also said, “With God, all things are possible.”…Has God ever delivered you out of an impossible situation?

*In John 16:33 Jesus said, “Be of good cheer.  I have overcome the world.”…Have you ever been cheerful because of an answer to prayer?

* Acts 2:24 explains that Jesus’ pain on the cross was our gain… Have you gained eternal life thru praying to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

* Psalm 5:11 says,  “But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;  let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;” …Have you ever put your trust in the Lord to defend you?

Bleach – As I use this bleach to get out the stains and make my shirt white again, it reminds me of what Jesus does. He forgives me of my stains or sins and makes me white again.  Isaiah 1:18 says, “Though you sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” …Have you ever prayed to receive Jesus as your Lord?

Clothes Hanger – As I put this dress on this hanger to keep it from wrinkling, it reminds me of how Jesus Christ is coming back soon for a church that is without spot or wrinkle.   The spots and the wrinkles are our sins, but Jesus died on the cross for our sins, so we could be clean and white and right with God…So is your heart clean?  Have you prayed for Jesus to be your Lord?

Dryer – As I watch those clothes going around and around in that dryer, it reminds me of how my mind, at times, can go around and around just trying to figure out an answer to a problem I’m facing.  But that is when I need to cast my cares upon the Lord (I Peter 5:7), trust in Him with all my heart and lean not to my own understanding. As I cast my cares and trust in the Lord, I believe that in God’s timing I will know what to do because God will show me the answer. You know what they say:   “It will all come out in the wash!”…So is Jesus your Lord?

Dryer Sheet – That dryer sheet reminds me of Gideon’s fleece.  In Judges 6:39 Gideon was trying to determine God’s will, so he put out a fleece and prayed: “Let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.” The next morning, it was so!  But now you do not need a fleece. It truly is God’s will for all men to pray to receive Jesus as their Lord, so are you born again?

Lost Sock –  I lost one of my socks.  It reminds me of how the Good Shepherd feels when one of His sheep is lost.  The Lord is my Shepherd...Is Jesus your Lord?  John 10:14-16

Whites and Darks – As I sort these white and dark clothes, it reminds me of Matt. 25:31-43.  Jesus said He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.  The sheep hear His voice and follow Him doing good deeds for the poor and sick, etc. so they will inherit eternal life. But the goats will go into the everlasting fire….So do you think that you are a sheep or a goat?

Salvation Prayer:  “Father, I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.  I repent of my sins.  Jesus, I ask You to forgive me and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior.   Fill me with the Holy Spirit.  Thank You for saving me from hell and giving me eternal life in heaven, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
