“I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say in the Kitchen?”
Many times the hardest part about witnessing is the transition from an everyday conversation onto the Gospel track. If you do not know how to do this, you will not be witnessing at all. One way to turn the conversation it is through relating the Gospel to objects around you like Jesus did many times in Matthew 13. These object evangelism icebreakers will train you how to turn conversations onto the Gospel track. Jesus is coming soon, so use loving boldness and be compassionate. Then be led by the Spirit using whatever method. You may prophesy or pray for healing, etc. To help pull them in, after the “…”, there is an invitation to be saved.
Burnt Toast – This toast is burned. It reminds me of something that they would eat in hell. That’s why I received Jesus Christ as my Lord – to be saved from hell. I’m so glad that I did because life with Jesus is so much better than before – more love, joy, peace and His newfound purpose for my life…Have you ever prayed to receive Jesus as your Lord? If you pray with me, I will be so happy that… I will make us some more toast!
Egg – As I crack open this egg, it reminds me that I need to crack open my Bible today and read it. I know that the best nourishment that I can ever receive is from the Word of God…. So have you ever prayed to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior? I Tim. 4:6
Grilling Meat – As I grill (cook or serve) this meat, it reminds me of John 4:34 when Jesus said: “My meat is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” As I finish this work grilling (or cooking in the kitchen), I know that it is God’s will for all men to be saved from the hot coals and flames of hell. And you can be saved through surrendering your life to Jesus Christ through praying to receive Him as your Lord and Savior…So would you like to pray?
Ice – Water – Steam: As I fill my glass with ice and watch the steam come off the coffee that I made with water, it reminds me of the trinity: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. They are all God manifested in three different forms…So is Jesus in your heart?Knife - This sharp knife reminds me of the sword of the spirit in the Bible. Hebrews 4:12 says: “the Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword.” Christians use the sword of the spirit to cut down the lies of the enemy that lead to destruction. The truth from God’s word will set you free. The truth is God loves you and He has a plan and a purpose for your life. What lies do you think the devil is telling you? …. Would like to pray to receive Jesus as your Lord? Then you’ll know the truth.
Oven mitt – As I take this dish out of the oven, this oven mitt reminds me of Jesus Christ. You see, the mitt saves me from being burned. And Jesus Christ saves me from being burned in hell for all eternity….Would you like to be saved as well? Then pray this salvation prayer with me.
Perished Fruit – This fruit has perished. I hate to waste food, but encourages me: John 3:16 “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but shall have ever lasting life.” I am so glad that I will not perish like this fruit because I received Jesus as my Lord…Have you ever done that? If not, you can pray a salvation prayer after me. 2 Peter 3:9
Spatula –I use this spatula with hamburgers and pancakes because if I don’t turn them over, they will burn on one side. It reminds me of the time that I turned my life over to Jesus Christ. I thank God that I will not be burned on the wrong side of eternity because I now have eternal life in heaven.Salvation Prayer: “Father, I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I repent of my sins. Jesus, I ask You to forgive me and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank You for saving me from hell and giving me eternal life in heaven, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
