“I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say at a Wedding?”
Many times the hardest part about witnessing is the transition from an everyday conversation onto the Gospel track. If you do not know how to do this, you will not be witnessing at all. One way to turn the conversation it is through relating the Gospel to objects around you like Jesus did many times in Matthew 13. These object evangelism icebreakers will train you how to turn conversations at a Wedding onto the Gospel track. Jesus is coming soon, so use loving boldness and be compassionate. Then be led by the Spirit using whatever method. You may prophesy or pray for healing, etc. To help pull them in, after the “…”, there is an invitation to be saved.
Candles – Those candles remind me of what Jesus said: ”I Am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” I prayed to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord, so now I am in the Kingdom of Light with eternal life in heaven…Would you like to pray for His light to come into your heart? John 8:12
Lilies – Those lilies remind me of how Jesus Christ is the lily of the valley and He is resurrection life as well…Have you ever made Him your Lord and Savior?
Ring - I know that the ring is the symbol of the marriage covenant to our spouse: “to be faithful forsaking all others, to love and to cherish, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health until death do you part.” The engagement ring reminds me the covenant I have with God, like a gold ring around my heart, because I prayed to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord…So are you in covenant with God for all eternity? Heb. 8:6-10
Roses – The pretty roses remind me of Jesus Christ, who is the Rose of Sharon in Song of Sol 2:1. He blooms in the hearts of those who love Him…So does the love of God bloom in your heart?
Wedding Reception – This wedding reception reminds me of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb that will soon take place up in heaven. The Lamb of God is Jesus Christ, also known as the Bridegroom who will come again to get His Bride, who is the Church (or those who are saved/born-again.). So after the church is raptured to heaven, there will be a great feast called the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. I know I will be there ‘cause I prayed to receive Jesus as my Lord...So will you be there? Would you like to receive Jesus as your Lord? Revelation 21; 22:17
White Wedding Dress – That white wedding dress reminds me of how the Bride of Christ will be when Jesus Christ comes again for her. It says in Eph. 5:27 that we will be “without spot or wrinkle, holy and without blemish.” That all means we will be free from sin and spiritually washed clean on the inside. To be a part of the church at all, which shall be the Bride of Christ, first you need to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Then by His loving grace and mercy, He will help you get the spots and the wrinkles out as He pours His love into your heart you when you pray and read His Word….If Jesus were to come back today, would you be ready to be His Bride? Would you like to pray right now to receive Him as your Lord and Savior?
Wedding Gift - This wedding gift reminds me of the best gift of all – eternal life. Since I have received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I know that I will have eternal life in heaven. Now that is a gift that keeps on giving! Jesus Christ is God’s gift for all eternity to whosoever chooses to believe in and receive His Son Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior…Do you know how much He loves you? Would you like to pray to receive the gift of eternal life? Then you will be able to take part in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in heaven. Ephesians 2:8-9
Salvation Prayer: “Father, I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I repent of my sins. Jesus, I ask You to forgive me and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank You for saving me from hell and giving me eternal life in heaven, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”you want to pray so you will be there too?
