“I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say at a Post Office?”
Many times the hardest part about witnessing is the transition from an everyday conversation onto the Gospel track. If you do not know how to do this, you will not be witnessing at all. One way to turn the conversation it is through relating the Gospel to objects around you like Jesus did many times in Matthew 13. These object evangelism icebreakers will train you how to turn conversations at the post office onto the Gospel track. Jesus is coming soon, so use loving boldness and be compassionate. Then be led by the Spirit using whatever method. You may prophesy or pray for healing, etc. To help pull them in, after the “…”, there is an invitation to be saved.
Door - As I stand here by this door, it reminds me of what Jesus said in John 10: 9 that He is the door to eternal life….Have you ever walked through that door?
E-mail is Faster – This is a long line. I know that e-mail is faster, but I could not send this by e-mail because of the important papers in here. Did you know that paper is really made out of wood? They take the wood and then grind it to a pulp. Once the wood pulp has been treated, washed, bleached and beaten, it becomes paper. This whole process reminds me of Jesus Christ. He was treated badly and then beaten to a pulp with a whip 39 times, then died on a wooden cross…but now we have eternal life if we believe in Him. And His Gospel is written on this paper – in which they have so much in common. Is. 53:4-5
Love letter – I wish I had a love letter. This guy I really like has not written me. Sigh. I must remember that the Word of God is God’s love letter to me telling about how God loves me. “God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son and whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” Yes, Jesus is the true lover of my soul and is the healer of the broken hearted... Have you ever prayed to receive Jesus as your Lord? John 3:16; 1 John 4:8
Mailman - The mailman that delivers mail to my door reminds me Jesus Christ, Who is the doorway to heaven. When a person receives Jesus Christ as their Lord, then the Holy Spirit will “deliver mail” to their heart that is full of fresh revelation from the Word of God. It is the best mail because it is divine mail that is full of God’s love and joy and peace. Rom. 8:32
Package – This package reminds me of the gift. (What gift?) The gift that God gave - His Son Jesus Christ. When the Holy Spirit over shadowed Mary, then Jesus was conceived. So He came special delivery. He was born in a manger and later shed His blood and died for our sins on the cross. Whoever believes in Him will have the gift of eternal life – When they die, they get to unwrap this gift by living in heaven for all eternity…Would you like to pray now to receive Jesus as your Lord? John 3:16; Eph. 2:8-9.
Special Delivery – This package that is being sent “special delivery” reminds me of how Jesus Christ was born into the earth. He came special delivery. The Holy Spirit overshadowed the Virgin Mary causing her to miraculously conceive Him. He was born in a manger and later died for the sins of the world. Whoever believes in Jesus shall have eternal life….Do you believe? Luke 1:35
Stamp –A prayer without “in Jesus name” is like a letter with no stamp. It is not going any- where. Jesus Christ paid the price so that salvation could be delivered to everyone who receives Him as their Savior… Would you like to pray to receive Jesus as Lord? 1 Peter 1:18-19
Waiting in Line – This line is taking so long, it reminds me of eternity. Actually, eternity lasts forever. It is a very long time to be spent in the wrong place…Do you know where you will spend eternity? …Have you ever prayed to receive Jesus as your Lord?
Salvation Prayer: “Father, I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I repent of my sins. Jesus, I ask You to forgive me and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank You for saving me from hell and giving me eternal life in heaven, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
