“I Want to Witness, But What Do I Say at the Grocery Store?”
Many times the hardest part about witnessing is the transition from an everyday conversation onto the Gospel track. If you do not know how to do this, you will not be witnessing at all. One way to turn the conversation it is through relating the Gospel to objects around you like Jesus did many times in Matthew 13. These object evangelism icebreakers will train you how to turn conversations in a groceronto the Gospel track at the grocery store. Jesus is coming soon, so use loving boldness and be compassionate. Then be led by the Spirit using whatever method. You may prophesy or pray for healing, etc. To help pull them in, after the “…”, there is an invitation to be saved.
Bread - As I buy this bread, it reminds me of what Jesus said: “I Am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never go hungry…” (John 6:35). This wonder breadmust have been the kind that Jesus used when God multiplied the five loaves so that the 5,000 could eat. That was a sign and a wonder(John 6:11)! ….So are you hungry for God? Have you ever received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
Bleach - This bleach reminds me of something that can get your clothes even whiter than that bleach. His name is Jesus Christ…In Isaiah 1:18 The Lord says, “Though you sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” …Have you ever prayed to receive Jesus as your Savior? Would you like to pray now?
Deli Meat - This meat reminds me of something that Jesus said: “My meat is to do the will of my Father”…..It is always important to do God’s will. The first thing that God wants us to do is to believe in His Son Jesus Christ and receive Him as Lord and Savior and then you will have eternal life…Would you like to pray? John 4:34
Fruit – This fruit reminds me of the nine fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, etc. This fruit here nourishes your body, but the “fruit of the spirit” is so healthy because it nourishes your relation- ships with family and friends. But you cannot truly have spiritual fruit without first receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord….Would you like to pray? Gal. 5:22Hollywood Tabloids - I think that these actors and actresses are more famous for their own personal trials than for the movies they star in. I believe the most famous person is Jesus Christ who went through His own personal trial when He went to the cross and died and rose again. His death reconciled me to God, giving me eternal life, so He is my star. And it says in Rev. 22:16 that Jesus is "the bright and morning star." My goal in life is to make Jesus Christ famous...so do you personally know Him as Lord?
Ketchup or Salsa- This ketchup reminds me of the blood of Jesus Christ. His blood is what separates Christianity from every other religion….Many people do not realize that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. The payment for sin is death. Jesus’ blood was holy and pure because His blood was from God. When Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross, He became the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world. He is also called the “Lamb of God.” With His blood, Jesus paid the price for our sins. Those who pray to receive Him as their Lord and Savior, shall be saved from hell and shall receive eternal life in heaven…Would you like to pray now? Heb. 9:22; John 3:16; 1 Peter 1:19
Waiting in Line – This line is taking so long, it reminds me of eternity. Actually, eternity lasts forever. It is a very long time to be spent in the wrong place…Do you know where you will spend eternity? …Have you ever received Jesus as your Lord?
Salvation Prayer: “Father, I believe that Your Son Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I repent of my sins. Jesus, I ask You to forgive me and come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank You for saving me from hell and giving me eternal life in heaven, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
